Robespierre en carrosse de Paris à Arras
On est fin août 1781 ; Maximilien Robespierre, diplôme d’avocat en poche, hésite à faire carrière à Paris, où son jeune frère poursuit ses études. Finalement il décide de quitter la capitale et de rejoindre à Arras où il suppose pouvoir compter sur quelques solides appuis.
Son bagage fait, il se rend au Bureau des Voitures publiques, fixé au Grand Cerf, rue Saint-Denis. Il a appris qu’un carrosse part tous les mardis et qu’il va jusqu’à Saint-Omer (…)
